Claire Coslop (b.1982) is a multidisci-planetary artist in Pennsylvania, PA, who is currently talking about herself in the third person. Claire works primarily in oil paint and found objects, but also likes pastels, mosaics, and mixed-media assemblages. Sometimes she falls on her skateboard. Actually, this happens a lot.

Artist Statement

I create windows into other worlds that are every bit as real as our own, often using several media to represent the multi-faced nature in all of us. I create, destroy, and create again, taking the roles of Shiva and Vishnu, Romulus and Remus, Almond Joy and Mounds. Flowers and geometric primitives often make appearances, tethering the otherwise multiform works and signifying the organic and synthetic, feminine and masculine, and a third thing. We all have scars, and so do our stories.
